What is the purpose of adhesion test?
The basic goal of adhesion testing is to produce a coating failure. The coating under test may experience an interface failure between the substrate and coating or between the individual coating layers in a multi-layer application. Coatings may also experience a cohesive failure within a particular layer.
Is standard for adhesion test?
ASTM D3359 is a standard test methods for measuring adhesion by tape test. This test assesses the adhesion of film coatings to metallic substrates by applying and removing pressure-sensitive tape over cuts made in the film. This test method is also known as the Cross Hatch test.
